I had a really bad experience with the administration/ application process. As many of the other reviews mention, the administration is non-responsive. I had to reach out every time I wanted an update of my application- the staff was never proactive in updating me. The whole process was about 40 days which is a lot in my experience. The other reviews also talk about a change in management, which is right in line with my experience. It is very cut and dry service. Very cold and corporate. I recommend choosing a better management company. Do not tell lies on the page when you do not want to and cannot compensate

I have just signed my lease, and I the application process was TERRIBLE. I paid an absorbent amount to apply for the apartment (application and administration fees were $450 in total). It is a shame I had to pay so much for this service, and it was terrible. I would go days/weeks without any contact about my application. I would then email about my application, and there would be no response. Then I was forced to call- every call was extremely terse and short, and I got confusing information that left me more lost. Overall, this process was a HEADACHE, and for the price, I would apply to another apartment with better management. Edit due to response below: The Curve did not reach out. I ended up reaching out. It went 4 days with no reply. Then I followed up. They called to "ask if I had any questions." Their response below was misleading because they never intended on "making things right."

Update to Area Manager response to my email expressing no refund! The opposite of his Google reply: After much research on this issue I believe my staff followed the legal guidelines in the most perfect conditions, and seeing how youâve have now sent me over 8 emails a voicemail and left a negative/false review within 24 hours of your first inquiry I feel that I no longer have anymore time to verify if there is any wiggle room for you here. Therefore, I will give you your official answer. No, we will not and are not obligated to refund your application and/or holding fee at The Curve on Melrose. Thank you, Bowen Johnson | Regional Property Manager - AZ I applied online this April and Alex and Dulce her manager are refusing to returned my holding deposit after I received an email that my holding deposit will be returned! After applying, Alex neglected to inform me of other fees associated with my unit. Because of lack of information I am entitled to received my application fees for me and my spouse and my holding deposit! Emails do not lie it's in writing. This is not a fair housing practice and because I'm a woman of color receiving assistance from a government subsidy program. I believe this is a form of housing discrimination base on race/color and retaliation. How many Caucasian applicants have they given a hard time to and I bet none. I like my holding deposit returned and I feel the credit check should be returned as well. My family will also write a review until this matter is resolved. This review will be deleted once I received my refund of all monies.

Iâve lived here a little over 3 years. I love being in Melrose and being able to walk to my favorite spots. Itâs really a fun area. Management tries hard but there are serious problems here! The owners are either too cheap to repair things or going broke. Itâs been in sharp decline the last year and half. Multiple leaks in the ceiling on the 5th floor, one elevator hasnât worked for 6 months. Several of my neighbors have major appliances that donât work and havenât worked for 2-3 minths. One neighbor has been using a vacant apartment to do their laundry. Certainly not luxury if you ask me. There is dog pee all over carpet in the halls. The one working elevator was so gross my partner and I started to clean it. The dog park smell is so potent when the wind blows you can smell throughout the complex. My AC has gone out 6-7 times, Iâve had to request it to be repaired multiple times. I was told they donât have to repair an AC as long as the apartment temp doesnât go above 82 degrees. Security gates are always broken, most of the outside entrance door handles have broken off and have been missing for 2.5 years. My car and neighbors cars have been vandalized inside the parking garage. They knock out windows and steal things from inside your car. The lights to the pool quit working 2.5 years ago making the pool a big black hole at night. Itâs unsafe for kids. Only thing luxurious about this place is the sign that says luxury apartments for rent. Renter beware!

EDIT: What I said below is still true. Iâm dropping a star because the move out process is rough and expensive. Make sure to clean everything to absolute perfection. Great is not good enough. Weâve never heard our neighbors, which is a first time for me! Love our 1-bedroom apartment and balcony. I recommend living on the south side of the complex. Living on the north or west side, youâd hear the bars and 7th Ave. But the south side is awesome and has a GREAT view of downtown! Iâve liked all of the office staff and maintenance guys.

I relocated from the East Coast and decided the Curve at Melrose would meet my needs. Alex was great and helped me through the process via phone and email. The office has been very helpful whenever I had a question or concern. I would continue to be a resident but I bought a home in the area. The pool and other amenities are great and the neighborhood is fabulous. I would highly recommend checking out The Curve at Melrose for your next home.
