At first glance, The Curve at Melrose seems to be a wonderful place to live. Close to Central Phoenix, Hallways smell nice for the most part, etc... I'm going to going to get straight to the point. If I could give this place 0 stars I would!
The first week my Fiancé and I moved in, my truck was broken into in the so called "gated" garage. I say it that way because they gates are always broken. Like currently right now as I type this, one of the gates if not more are broken. Allowing anyone and everyone into the garage and access to the rest of the apartments.
In the same week, my Fiancé found a drunkenly passed out man in the elevator. 1. That doesn't make her feel safe while she's trying to take our dog out to go to the restroom. 2. I don't want to hear or read that we live next to bars and people go out partying. Getting to that point is unacceptable.
Following those incidences, a person decided to start roaming around the halls in the nude. Stealing people's trashcans and door decorations.
In our personal experience (my Fiancé and I), our neighbor has walked up to our door. Creating pentagrams and pretending to throw it at our door. Throwing coins and pouring salt at or on our door/door frame. Cursing out our Ring camera and this is at all times of hours.
Since all of this, We've had to call the police a few different times. We've even gone to the court and was granted an injunction against harassment against said individual, who lives just a couple doors away from us. We've even gone to property management.
At this point WE DO NOT FEEL SAFE HERE, We've since been told either, we may be able to get out, but not for free/eviction. Or told we should reach out to our attorneys to see what they can do for us. We were also told we could move to a different unit, but I don't think that'll work when we feel our lives are at risk. Apparently, that means The Curve at Melrose does not want to help us through this difficulty! We DO NOT FEEL SAFE HERE! We are great tenants! We always pay our rent early or on time, We are clean and we are quiet. We do not want to live here anymore.
I haven't even gotten into the "community fees" or the 3 week period that we were not allowed to use our dog park, even though we were still being charged for it. We've had a fan that's been broken since the day we moved in, our sink disposal doesn't work and our dishwasher has mold in the lines. Luckily we hand wash everything, but if we had used the dishwasher, I wouldn't be surprised if we got sick.
I will begin adding photos and videos of the footage I have daily until we come to a resolution.
